In the Press

“American gothic meets classic horror story gothic, with more than a little “Call of the Wild” mixed in, as a trailer-park mother-daughter coming-of-age story in “Anna Bella Eema,” the outstanding new production from Crowded Fire Theater Company.

D’Amour’s blithely poetic script transforms its literary and pop-culture gothic elements into unexpectedly moving dramatic gold. In Novick’s sure-handed staging and the mesmerizing performances of Beck, Levin and Kurtz, “Eema” is a stunning act of theatrical alchemy.” Rob Hurwitt, SF Chronicle
