Steven Collier
Steven Collier is an attorney, instructor, and entrepreneur. As a scientist in his first career, a lawyer in his second, and a lifelong supporter of the arts, he is used to dealing with different forms of creativity. As an inventor and word nerd, he enjoys exploring the synergy that exists between these fields. He became a supporter of Crowded Fire Theater after seeing their remarkable production of Christina Anderson’s DRIP in 2009. Prior to his current career at local biotech Fluidigm, he formulated bubble bath and developed a technique for studying metabolism in skin. He received his PhD in pharmacology from Georgetown University and his JD from University of Maryland. While in the Maryland/DC area, he served on the Maryland Transportation Administration Citizens Advisory Committee and remains engaged in accessible and environmentally friendly transportation. He is proud of and inspired by the success of Crowded Fire Theater and its ability to bring new works that provoke and challenge the audience to reconnoiter original ideas and inner beliefs.
